We currently have a Sales Estimator role position available:
Job Purpose
To evaluate and produce estimates in line with the business plan objectives to achieve maximum conversion rates at acceptable profit margins.
Position in Organisation
The job holder reports to the Senior Estimator
The following positions report directly to the job holder
Key Measures of Success
To produce accurate quotations from the receipt of tender documentation sent directly to the estimating department or via information presented by the sales team. (in line with agreed margins)
To ensure all required information is entered on Sales Achiever. And that it is accurate and up to date.
To ensure all quotes are followed up and all info is documented on the sales achiever.
To reduce personal and sales department NNC’s by value and number.
Target, time, budget
Target – To ensure all customer needs are met, and they receive a quality service for prices and technical information
Time – To meet set deadlines returning prices.
Budget – Both the client and Canal’s budgets are met
Areas of Responsibility
To ensure accurate pricing inline with the required profit margins of the business plan.
To liaise with Line manager when negotiating on price to win orders.
To assist the Line manager in evaluating tender documentation, in relation to whether we submit a price.
To look for new products and opportunities to help the growth of the three sectors.
To keep accurate records of tenders submitted on behalf of other members of the sales team (i.e. when it is not entered by you on the Sales Achiever).
To maintain sufficient knowledge of the company, its products, financial targets and of the market place to maximise business opportunities.
Increase overall sales and profit margins in line with the business plan.
strengthen reputation in the market through positive customer experiences.
Areas of shared responsibility
Attend sales meetings to help improve the performance and efficiency of the company.
To inform other sales staff of projects / quotes where the main contractor has been appointed.
Must be able to produce quotes for all sectors when requested.
Authority levels
The job holder is – unless otherwise stated – provided with the necessary direct authority to act without reference to the Sales manager in executing the responsibilities detailed above.
